Nippers set to pack Cosy Corner

Torquay’s Cosy Corner will be host to over 1500 competitors and their families for Life Saving Victoria’s biggest junior Nipper carnival of the year tomorrow, Friday 3 January, 2014.

Starting at 9am, teams and individuals with battle in the surf and sand in countless events including beach flags, sprints, foam board relay, aqua cameron and the iconic ironman and woman.

LSV Aquatic Sport Junior Coordinator, Luke Gavin encourages everyone to show their support and attend the Cosy Corner Carnival 9am – 4pm, Friday 3 January.

“It is a great opportunity to head down to the beach with friends and family for an action-packed day out,” he said.

“Nippers is an excellent way for children to make friends, be active, enjoy the beach and develop lifesaving skills in a safe and welcoming environment.”

The celebrated Cosy Corner Carnival has been running for over 20 years and continues to attract a growing crowd every year.

“In Victoria we have almost 10,000 Nippers aged between six and 13 years, who hit our beaches as part of the Junior Development Program each summer,” said Mr Gavin.
