$250,000 PAYOFF FOR 25TH ANNUAL PENNSYLVANIA SPRINT CAR SPEEDWEEK OFFERING NINE SPRINT CAR RACES IN TEN DAYS, OPENS FRIDAY JUNE 25 AT WILLIAMS GROVE SPEEDWAY
York Haven, Pa.....The 25th Annual Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek is set to begin on Friday evening June 25 at the Williams Grove Speedway. Nine Sprint Car races in ten days will offer over $250,000 in purse money.
In addition, thanks to sponsorship from Jake’s Wayback Burgers and associate sponsorship from Trone Outdoor Advertising, the 25th edition of Speedweek will also offer a $25,000 point fund.
Last year’s Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek point series went down to the final laps of the final race, with plenty of drama thrown in for good measure. Lucas Wolfe drove the Zemco Sprinter to last year’s Speedweek title by just six points over Greg Hodnett and the Michael Heffner team.
Wolfe had all kinds of ups and downs on that final night of Speedweek at Selinsgrove. His night started with a rollover in warmups. However, the Zemco team went to work and repaired the car for time trials, where Wolfe set fast time. In the process of setting fast time Wolfe suffered engine problems, and then missed his heat race while the team changed engines. Wolfe rebounded in the feature to finish fifth, while Hodnett crossed in seventh place.
After Friday’s $5000 to win show at Williams Grove, Speedweek moves to Lincoln Speedway Saturday June 27 for the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Race worth $7000 to the winner. From there it’s on to Path ValleySunday June 28 where promoter Fred Rahmer will offer $5000 to win.
After taking Monday June 29 off, Speedweek hits full force with a $5000 to win show on Tuesday at Grandview Speedway, part of the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series. Wednesday the series moves to Hagerstown and Thursday night at Lincoln. The “Crown Jewel” of Speedweek is Friday July 3, with $10,000 to win the Mitch Smith Memorial Race at Williams Grove.
Speedweek moves into it’s final weekend of 2015 with Port Royal’s $5000 win event on Saturday July 4, and then wraps up with the Jan Opperman / Dick Bogar Memorial Race at Selinsgrove on Sunday July 5.
The new $25,000 point fund will offer $10,000 for the champion. Second place pays $5000, with $3000 for third, $1500 for fourth, and $1000 for fifth. Sixth through tenth offer $900, $800, $700, $600, and $500. The top four drivers who attempt to compete in every event, but don’t crack the top ten in the final point standings will each get $250.

BASHORE MOTORSPORTS, EASTERN RIGGING & JARED UMBENHAUER ADD WENGERS OF MYERSTOWN, PA AS NEW SPONSOR FOR AGGRESSIVE 2015 358 MODIFIED SEASON
Myerstown, PA . . . . . Bashore Motorsports, Eastern Rigging and Jared Umbenhauer are pleased to announce a new partner joining their effort as they move up the ladder in 2015 to compete with the ultra-competitive 358 Modifieds at Grandview Speedway.
Wengers of Myerstown, PA , the source for Agricultural, Construction Equipment and Parts are joining as an associate sponsor for the three time consecutive Sportsman Champion planning his inaugural season chasing the 358 Modified points every Saturday night “on the hill.” It’s been nearly ten years since Wengers of Myerstown and Bashore Trucking we together in a sponsorship racing effort, but it will again happen in 2015.
The Wenger/Bashore business and racing relationship goes back more than twenty-five years as Barry Bashore was a co-sponsor and team owner in the legendary days of the late 80’s and 90’s. The driver was none other they Davey Wenger who etched his name into many record books including winning the 1986 Tri-Track Championship, he was the winner of the 1987 running of the Freedom 76 and in 1994 he was the Grandview Speedway track champion. Together, Wenger & Bashore fielded cars for standout Sportsman Champion Todd Bashore and Keith Hoffman. Together, Wenger and Bashore have a rich and rewarding championship tradition together. The 2015 season will be one to watch as the youthful and talented Jared Umbenhauer takes on the 358 Modifieds with some of the very best coaches in the sport.
“The time is right,” commented Davey Wenger. “I had the opportunity to see Jared perform in person last year while winning the 40 lapper and he is ready to make the move to run with the likes of Howard, Strunk, VonDohren and Manmiller.” Wenger also said, “Jared’s a fine young man, solid driver with a great fan following all the qualities Wengers of Myerstown likes to be associated with.”
Jaren Umbenhauer and his new 2015 Bicknell Gatto Powered Bashore Trucking, Eastern Rigging, Wengers, Jungle, BFP Machine will be at the American Racer Tire Booth at the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports show January 23, 24 and 25 in Oaks, PA
