England’s interim manager Lee Carsley has revealed he’s not talking to Ben White as the Arsenal star has asked not to be contacted.

Carsley oversaw a 2-0 win over Finland at Wembley on Tuesday night, as England backed up their win against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday.
Harry Kane stole the show on his 100th cap as he scored both goals in the second half, the first a superb strike which went in off the underside of the crossbar and the second a brilliant first time finish.
Carsley not speaking to White
Carsley called up a number of debutants to his first squad and Angel Gomes made his first start against Finland, whilst Noni Madueke made his England debut and grabbed the assist for Kane’s second goal.
It was refreshing to see some new faces and it very much feels like the beginning of a new era, although tougher tasks lie ahead.
However, rather than the players who were there, Carsley was once again asked about Arsenal ace White and made it clear the defender had asked not to be contacted.
“I’ve not planned to [speak to White], no,” he told reporters.
“We spoke about this in the squad selection. Every player that’s eligible to play for England is in with a chance.
“As far as I’m aware, he has asked to be not contacted.”
Despite impressing for Arsenal over the last two seasons White hasn’t been in an England squad since the Qatar World Cup in 2022, which he left midway through due to “personal reasons.”
The 26-year-old currently has four caps but at this stage it appears he’s not interested in adding to that total, and it remains to be seen if he decides to change his mind in regards to England selection.

Danny Rose has revealed Tottenham Hotspur players used to be ‘laughed at’ by England teammates regarding their wages.
Rose recently called time on an impressive career that saw him play 214 times for Spurs across all competitions, as well as representing the likes of Sunderland, Newcastle and Watford.
Of course, Rose was also a regular for England between 2014 and 2019 — at which point he was counted among the best left-backs in the Premier League — playing at Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup with the Three Lions.
However, despite his high standing in the game at the time, it became clear to Rose during an England training camp that he and his Tottenham teammates weren’t quite getting paid at the same level as other Three Lions stars.
That was the source of plenty of amusement for Rose’s international colleagues.

Rose reveals Tottenham stars teased by England teammates over wages
“When we would go away with England, the lads would laugh at us at what we’re being paid. And I have one friend who was at another club,” Rose told the In The Zone podcast (via Football.London).
“I remember one season where West Brom were fighting relegation while we were near the top and some of their players were on more than what we were on. That wasn’t right. With Spurs and win bonuses, you had to win by at least a couple of goals to get a bonus from it.
“At the time, I don’t regret saying anything about it because it was the truth but now I think the lads are being paid appropriately.”

Noni Madueke says he is ‘really proud of himself’ after making his senior England debut on Tuesday.
Madueke came off the bench in the second half and quickly provided an assist for Harry Kane as the Bayern Munich striker scored his second of the night to make it 2-0 against Finland in the UEFA Nations League.
It was Madeueke’s first taste of senior international football following a run of 40 caps across various youth levels for England, across which he scored 13 goals.
The 22-year-old has been in excellent form for Chelsea at the start of this season, scoring four goals in four games across all competitions, including netting a hat-trick in a 6-2 win away at Wolves.
In just 24 minutes on the pitch at Wembley, Madueke attempted three shots and had eight touches in the opposition box, aside from his aforementioned assist.

Speaking after the match, Madueke expressed his pride in making his senior international debut and is now looking forward to carrying this confidence back into club football with Chelsea.
“It was great to make my first appearance for the national team and I am really proud of myself,” the former PSV forward told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“It has been a great week, the boys are great and the staff and players have made me feel welcome.
“It tried to go out there and be direct and cause problems. I got an assist for Harry on his 100th appearance – it can’t get much better than that. It is fitting that Harry got both goals – it is his night.
“It is fun to work with Harry because if you give him the ball in the box he is going to get you an assist – Stonesy [John Stones] has been great with me and Dec [Rice], Jack [Grealish] – it is a great group of lads.
“I cannot wait to get back to Chelsea and to keep performing.”

Harry Kane admitted being doubted made him hungry to prove people wrong after winning his 100th England cap against Finland on Tuesday night.
Kane was presented with a golden cap to commemorate his achievement before the game and he marked his special night in typical fashion.
Donning gold boots for the occasion Kane scored two second half goals, the first a superb strike, which went in off the underside of the crossbar and the second a brilliant first time finish.
Kane hungry to prove people wrong
It was a difficult summer for England’s leading goalscorer, who struggled at the Euros and his performances came in for criticism with a lot of people suggesting he should be dropped.
Kane was subbed in a number of games including the final against Spain and clearly wasn’t himself at the tournament.
However, speaking after his 100th cap he revealed being doubted made him hungry to prove people wrong and he looked back to his best against Finland.
“It was a big night for me, really proud,” he told ITV Sport.
“I want to score goals and help the team. Whenever you are doubted, it makes you more hungry to prove people wrong. I always back myself to score goals and I am excited for the future.
“Trent backed up with another great performance. We always looked like the team who would break the deadlock. We spoke about being ruthless but in these games you have to keep knocking on the door and you will get your reward.
“The manager has come in with a great energy, talks a lot of about freedom and attacking and hurting the teams. Of course there is a room for improvement, but a great start for him.”
Kane’s two goals took to his total to 68 for the Three Lions and the striker will be hoping for another successful season for club and country and a chance to win his first silverware.

Declan Rice will miss Arsenal’s trip to North London rivals Tottenham this weekend due to a red card he received last time out against Brighton and the player involved, Joël Veltman, has stated that he believes the England star’s dismissal was “quite harsh”.
With Mikel Arteta’s team 1-0 ahead at the Emirates Stadium, Rice received a second yellow at the beginning of the second half for knocking the ball away as Veltman was about to take a quick free-kick.
Arsenal fans expected the Brighton star to be punished but instead, the referee produced a second yellow for Rice, which means he will miss the North London derby on Sunday.
Speaking about the incident to Sky Sports, Veltman has labelled the booking as “quite harsh” and admits he was surprised to see the midfielder receive his marching orders.
“I didn’t want to kick him, he just kicked it [the ball] away and I kicked him,” the Brighton star said. “I find it quite harsh [the second yellow card], you see my reaction when you look at it back. I was not going to the ref asking for a second yellow.”
