Adelaide United will face Sydney FC in the Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Final next month after Marco Kurz’s side sealed a 2-1 victory over Western Sydney Wanderers FC at Campbelltown Stadium on Tuesday.
The Reds, who won the inaugural Westfield FFA Cup Final in 2014, will have the chance to become the first side to lift the prestigious trophy twice on Tuesday 21 November 2017.
Graham Arnold’s Sydney FC are no strangers to the Westfield FFA Cup Final themselves. The Sky Blues lost 1-0 to Melbourne City FC in last year’s decider, so Arnold’s men will be determined to ensure that their club’s name is the next to be etched on the Westfield FFA Cup’s roll of honour.
Adelaide United sealed progression to the Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Final thanks to goals from two of the club’s foreign stars, Johan Absalonsen and Daniel Adlung. Danish dynamo Absalonsen opened the scoring in the 13th minute, before German gun Adlung doubled Adelaide’s lead just before the hour mark with a fierce strike from range.
Wanderers marksman Brendon Santalab scored from the penalty spot to reduce the deficit for Western Sydney with 20 minutes to go, however the red-and-blacks couldn’t find a leveller late on to affect the outcome of the Semi-Final.
The Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Final venue, kick-off time, and ticketing information will be confirmed by FFA later this week, however the match will be held on Tuesday 21 November 2017 in either Sydney or Adelaide.

Tonight’s draw – which will feature 2016 Westfield FFA Cup winner Josh Rose – will also be streamed LIVE on the official Westfield FFA Cup website – www.theffacup.com.au.
Four clubs have already booked their place in the Quarter Finals, with the other four spots to be decided tonight.
Thus far Hyundai A-League side Adelaide United has booked its Quarter Finals spot alongside Gold Coast City FC from Queensland, as well as PS4 NPL Victorian outfits South Melbourne and Heidelberg United.
The Quarter Finals will see matches played across two nights with two matches per night. Possible match dates for the Quarters Finals are Wednesday 13 September 2017 and Wednesday 20 September 2017.

Friday 11 August 2017
The opening night of the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 will see the rekindling of a classic old rivalry as two proud former NSL clubs, Sydney United 58 FC and Heidelberg United, take centre stage on Wednesday 23 August as the headline broadcast match on FOX SPORTS.
The two old foes will trigger memories of the old glory days as they battle it out at the Sydney United Sports Centre for a spot in the last eight.
Night one of the Round of 16 will also see a heavyweight Hyundai A-League clash between Adelaide United and Melbourne Victory in front of what is likely to be a full house at Marden Sports Complex, while it will be a ‘Piddick Derby’ in Queensland as brothers Adam and Grae Piddick, the respective bosses at Moreton Bay United and Gold Coast City, attempt to plot the other’s downfall.
The other match on August 23 sees South Melbourne at home again, this time for the visit of the Jamie Harnwell coached Sorrento, who eliminated last year’s semi finalists Canberra Olympic in the Round of 32.
Then on Tuesday 29 August FOX SPORTS will broadcast the tantalising match between 2014 semi finalists Bentleigh Greens and Western Sydney Wanderers FC.
Twice Bentleigh have faced Hyundai A-League opposition in the Westfield FFA Cup and on both occasions they have come out on the wrong end of the score line so they will be hoping it’s a case of third time lucky when they welcome Tony Popovic’s charges to Kingston Heath.
The rest of the night two action comes from the harbour city as Blacktown City, Bankstown Berries and Hakoah Sydney City East all host matches on what promises to be a bumper night of Cup action.
Lily Homes Stadium will play host to Blacktown City against APIA Leichhardt Tigers, the two teams currently vying for the top spot in PS4 NPL NSW.
At Leichhardt Oval, Hakoah Sydney City East are set to add another chapter in their history when they host reigning Cup holders Melbourne City FC, while second division club Bankstown Berries, the remaining Cinderella story in the this year’s competition, prepare to take on the star studded Sydney FC in a dream Cup tie at Sydney United Sports Centre.
As well as broadcasting one match LIVE and exclusive in full on each match night, FOX SPORTS will also LIVE stream and provide updates and crosses of all other matches.
Ticketing information for each of the Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Round of 32 matches will be released in due course by each home club. Please visit www.theffacup.com.au/tickets for further details.
