Jose Enrique tips Newcastle winger to leave the club this summer

Former Newcastle player Jose Enrique believes Magpies should offload winger Miguel Almiron to Saudi in order to void FFP restrictions.

According to reports, Newcastle are forced to sell before buying this summer transfer window and Almiron is one of the candidates who could be sacrificed.

“Miguel Almiron has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, and unlike [Bruno] Guimaraes and [Alexander] Isak, he might be more ready to leave,” Enrique told Grosvenor Sport, via Chronicle Live.

“While Almiron has been a fantastic player for Newcastle with an excellent work rate, his form has dipped recently. The season before last, he was sensational, but now Newcastle have an opportunity to get a good fee for him,” Enrique added.

“Selling Almiron could help with financial fair play regulations and provide funds for a replacement. Although I would prefer him to stay, he seems the best option to leave compared to Guimarães and Isak.” – said Enrique.

Man United eye Ligue 1 hotshot as possible alternative to Joshua Zirkzee

Manchester United are one of four teams interested in Lille forward Jonathan David according to reports.

With the future of manager Erik ten Hag secure United are now pushing ahead with their transfer plans as they look to strengthen a squad which finished a lowly eighth last season.

The Red Devils need to strengthen in a number of areas, and are in particular need of defensive reinforcements and a striker to help Rasmus Hojlund.

United interested in Jonathan David

United are in the market for a striker to help take the goalscoring burden off Hojlund, who joined in a big money move from Atalanta last summer.

Reports have suggested that United are expected to activate Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee’s £34m release clause although they face stiff competition from the likes of AC Milan for the Dutchman’s signature.

However, inews have reported that the Red Devils are one of four English clubs looking at David, who only has one year remaining on his contract with Lille.

United have identified David as a possible alternative for Zirkzee.

The report adds that the Canada international could be available for as little as £25m, with Lille not wanting to lose him on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.

David has been in good goalscoring form for the Ligue 1 outfit and found the back of the net 19 times in the French top flight last season.

Inews adds that a number of  senior figures at United are said to like David, including incoming sporting director Dan Ashworth.

United are expected to be restricted financially this summer with some reports suggesting their initial budget could be as low as £50m, and therefore David would represent a good deal at an affordable price.

The Old Trafford outfit are expected to try and increase their budget by selling the likes of Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood in what is set to be a busy summer for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos.

Michael Olise set to join Bayern Munich after Chelsea pull out of deal

Michael Olise set to join Bayern Munich after Chelsea pull out of deal

Michael Olise has chosen to join Bayern Munich after Chelsea pulled out of a deal to sign the Crystal Palace winger.

Olise has been a man in demand this summer with Newcastle and Manchester United also expressing an interest, but The Athletic report he has chosen Bayern as his next destination and they are now expected to agree a deal with Palace.

Chelsea and Newcastle were both given permission by Palace to speak to Olise’s representatives, but the 22-year-old will be heading to the Bundesliga this summer.

Olise chooses Bayern Munich

Chelsea, who came very close to signing Olise last summer, were reportedly leading the race for the Frenchman, who was believed to be open to the move, but The Athletic report the Blues pulled out of a deal after deciding the finances involved were beyond their reach.

Some reports suggested Olise wanted to be the highest paid player at the club, with the Blues looking to reduce their wage bill, with The Athletic adding if a transfer target doesn’t fit into their existing structure they would rather “reward the existing players at the club who out perform over time or invest in new elite talent on more reasonable salaries.”

Olise joined Crystal Palace from Reading in 2021 and has made 90 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals and providing 25 assists during his time at Selhurst Park.

The winger impressed last season with ten goals and six assists in just 19 Premier League appearances, and he is now set for a new chapter in Germany with one of the biggest clubs in the world, and will play regular Champions League football.

Chelsea will now look elsewhere as they aim to add attacking reinforcements to their squad, and are currently deciding whether to sign Jhon Duran or Samu Omorodion as their new striker.

Alan Hutton claims Leeds have already found their Summerville replacement

Alan Hutton claims Leeds have already found their Summerville replacement

22/06/2024, England, Multi Sports, English Sports Publications, Article # 31827914

Former Premier League footballer Alan Hutton believes Coventry City’s Callum O’Hare would be a perfect replacement for Crysencio Summeville if he leaves Leeds this summer.

Leeds have reportedly shown an interest in O’Hare but haven’t taken it any further at this stage, but will likely have to replace a number of key players this summer.

The Whites missed out on promotion back to the Premier League after losing the play-off final 1-0 to Southampton, and are expected to have to sell one or two of their key players to help ease any financial pressure with Summerville a likely candidate to leave.

O’Hare the ideal replacement for Summerville

Summerville scored 21 goals in all competitions last season, and was named in the Championship Team of the Season, but the winger is attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, and is reportedly available for around £30m.

The 22-year-old isn’t the only player who could leave with Georginio Rutter and Willy Gnonto also tipped with potential exits, meaning Daniel Farke will need to find replacements as he looks to guide Leeds back to the Premier League.

Leeds are reportedly interested in Coventry’s O’Hare and Hutton believes the 26-year-old would make a big impact at Elland Road if he were to join the club.

Leeds are believed to interested in O’Hare who is out of contract this summer.

“He fits the bill that Leeds like, he’s an exciting player,” he told Football Insider.

“Especially if they’re going to lose somebody like Summerville or Rutter who could possibly be leaving this summer as well.

“They’re going to need to bring somebody in to replace these guys. I know Callum O’Hare well, I’ve played alongside him when I was at Villa.

“He’s very technically gifted, he’s got an eye for a pass and he can score goals, and he’s still at a good age and he’s got experience at this level.

“I think that is something Leeds are definitely looking at and he suits them well.”

O’Hare scored ten goals in 36 appearances last season as Coventry made the semi finals of the FA Cup, scoring against Manchester United at Wembley, but he’s out of contract this summer and is set to leave in look for a new challenge.
