ABOUT US
Hockey New Zealand is the national sporting body for Field Hockey in New Zealand. We foster all levels of the sport, from children and beginners right through to our elite national sides, the Black Sticks Men and Women.
As one of Sport New Zealand's targeted sports for growth throughout New Zealand, in 2011 we moved into implementation of the Hockey Strategy, and the six priority projects from our Whole of Hockey Plan:
- Develop national participation programmes
- Strengthen the delivery of hockey throughout New Zealand
- Develop the player talent pathway
- Strengthen regional capability
- Grow hockey's value and generate sustainable revenue
- Develop world class events and facilities
Hockey New Zealand is governed by eight Board members from various areas of expertise and capability.
Hockey New Zealand provides the governance and support to 32 regional hockey associations throughout New Zealand as well as five established councils that further support and manage the development of hockey.
