OBJECTIVES AND TASKS
The federation is generally responsible for the organization, coordination and promotion of cycling in Belgium in all disciplines and at all the different target groups.
More in particular, the federation is responsible for:

the study, planning, development and promotion of cycling at home and abroad;

monitoring and the application of the rules governing the sport of cycling;
- organizing and developing international relations and the development of the necessary partnerships at home and abroad with respect to cycling;

developing certifications in all disciplines;
-
general guidance cycling through the subsidization of public and private initiatives;

cooperation on the development of a sound topwielersportbeleid;
-
encouraging the establishment of protected circuits and velo dreams;
-
management and use of funds from the Youth Fund;
-
maintaining contacts with local, regional and federal governments (organization of Belgian championships, adjusting legal standards, etc.);
-
the organization of courses related to cycling coaching (commissioners, trainers, initiators);
-
the organization of information days (engineering, training, dietetics, doping) and representation at trade shows (Velofollies);
- the composition of national calendars;
-
organizing and coordinating club, national and international competitions;
-
educating youth sports coaches and counsel young riders;
-
defending the interests of cycling in general, both at regional, national and international level;
-
the promotion of cycling on the basis of the issuance of brochures.
