The Sprintcar All Stars, arguably Australia’s most competitive 360 Sprintcar series heads into western Victoria to contest the All Star Challenge at Simpson Speedway this Saturday night. Most of the cars that contested the SRA Victorian 360 title last weekend at Avalon Raceway will be rolling into the iconic western district speedway to have a go at the $6,000 winners’ cheque. With conditions looking ideal over the weekend the All Star guys are sure to put on a spectacular nights racing with more than 30 entries received to date.

With Saturday night’s racing at the Heytesbury Stockfeeds Simpson Speedway fast approaching, the final touches have been put in place. The track is in perfect condition, the nominations are in and the nights program is full. Brought to you by GreenCon, there are 27 Wingless Sprints that will take to the banks of the ‘Bungador Bulling’ for the Peter Merrett Trophy Race and the 7th and final race meeting at the track for the 2015/16 season. With cars travelling from all over Victoria as well as from interstate, the racing will be close. 22 Formula 500’s are making the trek and with the 2nd Round of the Jettco Series, the ‘Special Format’ for the final will make it very interesting to see who the winner will be. Its all about finishing all the races and maximising the points to be able to take out the prize! 15 Super Rods will put on a show for the crowd. Even without any prestige trophy at the end of the night, the drivers will still have the pedal down and will not give an inch during their events. Junior Sedans are also on the program with a field of both A Grade and B Grade making the effort to gain some valuable points for their aggregate. Speedway is the best place for the younger juniors to gain some valuable experience behind the wheel. So make sure you get your self down to the Bungador track and enjoy the nights racing. Gates open at 5pm with racing from 6.30pm. Also if you want to thank your crew and sponsors for the hard work and dedication they put in on your race car, then bring your car along on Sunday for the Sponsors/promotion day starting from 11am and let them have a drive. There is no better way than to give them the ultimate experience and show them that it is not as easy as it looks! A BBQ will be available during the day. UPDATE: Promotional/Practice Day at Simpson Speedway. When: Sunday 17th April Start Time: 11am BBQ Lunch will be available Cost: $60 per car if your a member of Simpson - $100 for Non Members. Day Licences are $50 each. Clarification on Licences: If you plan on driving a Speedway Australia Class and you do not have a Licence/Mechanics or Officials licence, it will cost you $50 for a one day licence. (ie. Sprintcar, Wingless, F500 etc) If you plan on driving a Non Speedway Australia Class and you do not hold a current Drivers Licence for that class, it will cost you $50 for a One Day Licence. (Ie Standard Saloon etc) If you wish to drive both, you will need both Licences. All Cars MUST Be registered to be involved. If you are buying a day licence, please bring your relevant information (ie Drivers Licence, Ambulance cover etc) otherwise you will not be able to purchase the licence on the day. This is an extract from an email from Speedway Australia; Promotions Day Speedway Australia understand the importance of such days in the race venues calendar and have organised it so there is limited extra costs on tracks and participants throughout this promotion day. All venues will only be allowed this opportunity once in a racing season and it will provide the opportunity for drivers, car owners, track staff to thank their sponsors helpers etc with a drive in their car. When this happens, all drivers of Race cars must have a form of Personal Accident insurance to have a go. This can be done by holding a mechanics, officials or other sections drivers licence and this will then allow them to compete. If someone wishes to have a go and has no form of personal cover through any licence, they then must apply for a One-Day. Also a current Junior Season Licence holder can have a Promotion drive of a senior car, but they must be on the track on their own. They cannot be involved where there is another car on the track. Please advise the club by SMS 0427 650 794 if you are attending (Car number and Class) and how many different drivers you plan on having driving your car to allow us to be organised.
