2015 FORD KUGA REVIEW $29,990 DRIVEAWAY
Scores low 4/10 with this review.
The opinions of independent judges using the Kuga Ambiente to travel to motoring events. Vehicle supplied by Ford.
Ford markets the 2015 Kuga Ambiente as a SUV but this vehicle clearly does not meet the criteria for a sports utility vehicle, this is a low powered 6 speed auto front wheel drive that is at home in the suburbs, definitely not an off-roader with only front wheel drive and with its small turbo motor it is anything but sports.
The Cougar is a lithe, powerful, feisty feline, perhaps that’s why Ford changed the spelling to Kuga Ambiente as this vehicle is non of the above. With 5 adults on board it is an ok family vehicle until you hit the open freeway and hills when its 1.5 litre turbo 138Kw engine tends to struggle. The weight unladen is 1598 kgs, but with 5 adults and fuel you are looking at 2 tonnes, I cannot imagine it towing at its rated limit of 1.5 tonnes in comfort. The 2.0 litre Ecoboost engine in the Kuga Titanium is something special. What most people do not realize is that the same 2 litre 178kw motor that is in the Ford Falcon and Kuga Titanium is also in the XE Jaguar, Range Rover Evoque and the Volvo and is a world class motor.
The interior is an exercise in cheap plastics, while it is roomy even in the rear seats it is spoilt by the ultra cheap looking fit-out and the tiny 4.2 inch screen in the centre of the dash. As one of the judges remarked you could probably get a smartwatch with a bigger screen. The cloth used on the seats, the floor coverings, and the dash all look down market, obviously an exercise by accountants in fitting out a car or is it a cynical ploy to attract potential customers and then up-sell them into a higher spec model. Another issue was the ventilation system with its extremely noisy fan on higher settings.
The rear hatch was extremely heavy for some of the ladies to lift but the interior storage spaces were good. Three charging points are supplied and these days you cannot get enough of these.
While travelling to motoring events was a great way to do an extended test on the Kuga it also gave us plenty of time to have an ongoing conversation about this car. This car drives quite well but an issue that continually cropped up on freeways with a 110kph speed limit was the amount of noise intruding into the cabin. Whenever we hit sections of road surface with the coarse gravel that is used universally throughout Australia the noise level was horrendous to the point that one of the judges remarked that he thought that perhaps Ford skipped installing sound insulation in this particular car, wind noise was also evident.
The exterior of the car is SUV shaped and sized, the small steel wheels (17inch) and tyres were basic and this car is so bland to look at that we suggested that Ford could change its name from Kuga to Anonymous.
In evidence that the engine was working hard was the jump in the stated fuel economy from 7.2 litres (combined) to 9.5 litres per 100 kms. I suppose that we should judge the Kuga Ambiente for what it is and that is an entry level car for the Kuga range with a massive incentive to move up to the Titanium which is so different to the Ambiente that you would think it was built by another manufacturer. The Ambiente at $29990 driveaway for the auto seems overpriced for what it is. It has stiff competition from the Koreans and Japanese. This car did not suit our use and was swapped by Ford for a Ford Territory diesel, if you think the above report is poor wait until you read the review for the Ford Territory.
While most people have a love/hate relationship with their car this car is one of the rare cars you come across that just does not have any character, heart or soul. It is the type of car that you would hire from Budget Rentals and give it back a few days later with no regrets and say, ”there is nothing about that car that I would want on my next car, there are no outstanding features about it”.
A lot of people relate themselves and the car they own to an overall picture of themselves and how they would like to be portrayed, outstanding success (Mercedes, Porsche), Blue collar success (Holden/Ford V8 or Turbo), old money or mega successful (Rolls Royce, Bentley), and then there is maxed out credit cards/the salesman talked me into it/I didn’t shop around Kuga Ambiente. And speaking of Bentley the Bentayga is classed as the worlds best SUV, powered by a twin turbo 6.0 litre W12 engine with a claimed top speed of 301kmh, this epitome of SUVs oozes luxury and is well worth a visit to a showroom to drool over it.
The Ford Kuga Ambiente was returned with approximately 6000kms on the odometer. As stated above this is the opinion of individuals, your opinion may differ. As you can tell, Ford is not associated with the Australian National Show and Shine Euroa in any way.

Thousands Flock To Euroa Show n Shine
By Mark Humphrey
Euroa, Vic/Aus. 7th October 2014. Once again the Australian National Show and Shine at Euroa was a big hit with fans as thousands cruised around the 100’s of cars and bikes on display in the idyllic parkland setting.
With the forecast of a sunny mid-20’s spring day, car enthusiasts from across the state cruised into the picturesque township of Euroa to cast they eyes over some outstanding customised and historical machinery. Local craft and market stalls lined the streets offering up a variety of local hand made goods as well as the customary food and drink outlets. Even the kids were catered for with dodgem rides and for the more adventurous a camel train ride.
Everywhere you looked there was a story to be told about the origins of a vehicle with some going way back. One of the marquee vehicles on display was a hand built fibreglass car inspired by the late French style 1930’s cars of the time. Taking to the creator and manufacturer of the Devaux I asked David how this all come about “well it’s something I had on my mind for a while and set about designing a car that was unique and not a copy of anything. I got my inspiration from the late 30’s French style cars and worked my way from there” he said. Being a truly unique vehicle the mammoth task of producing just one vehicle was an enormous task with the heavy reliance on quality tradespeople to complete their work within the construction time frames.
With the tear drop look about the car it was decided to build the panels out of fibreglass and although time consuming to set up the casting moulds the method was considerably cheaper than building aluminium panels. With David’s vision of producing more vehicles over time the fibreglass panels proved to be far more practical than hand building aluminium panels each time.
Every vehicle produced was hand built in the Melbourne factory with a build time of approximately 12 months full time. A total of 7 vehicles were built for customers with a price tag of $190,000. Although this example runs a 4.0 litre cross flow 6 cylinder Ford engine, all the other vehicles produced ran an aluminium Leyland 4.2 litre V8 engine. An automatic transmission supplied the drive to an independent rear suspension set-up with coil over shocks.
David likes to get the car out as much as possible and usually goes cruising at least every fortnight. With the enjoyment now in driving the car any thought of going back into production is just that, a thought. “It so hard today to make the project viable with the cost of marketing, expert trades reliance, programing, manufacturing floor space, the list goes on” he said. For now it’s just cruising in the Devaux.A feature of the display was this hand built creation
Set up beside the Devaux was a homemade Moke that had a story to tell. Having travelled across the equator 5 times and the Arctic Circle 6 times the vehicle has the tag of being the most travelled homemade car in the world. Adventurer Chris was happy to give out a few stats on the life time journey. “Yeah, where do we start. I drove around the world for 6 1/2 years visiting 129 countries and covering 367,000 kilometres. The car has been over the Equator 5 times and to every point of the globe” he said. Chris added “the car runs on vegetable oil, cooking oil or basically anything we can throw in her” he said. As a feature of this year’s Show and Shine Chris was quite happy to share his incredible adventure with the many curios spectators that lined up to find out more.367,000 kms and still going
Venturing over to the motorbike section I couldn’t help but notice a glistening small block V8 powered motorcycle belonging to Wayne King from V8 Choppers Australia. This awesome machine is running a 372 ci V8 Dart engine producing around 450hp. To find out more on V8 Choppers Australia go to the facebook page V8 Choppers Australia. Look for a full feature on the V8 Chopper in an upcoming edition.Chevy powered motorcyle. What a rush!!
Just over from the Wayne’s chopper was Gary Jenning’s 1947 Indian Scout. Originally used by the Australian Army Gary purchased the bike a few years back and got about taking the bike back to its original glory. Now sporting the original burgundy color Gary has increased the engine capacity to 750cc courtesy of a Harley Davidson crank. “Yeah I went over to the dark side and put some Harley parts into her. At 500cc it was just a bit slow going over hills but now having 7500cc underneath me the bike is just a dream to ride” he said. The bike is carrying a few battle scars from Gary’s mis-adventures but that hasn’t curbed his enthusiasm to get out a couple of times a month to go riding.Gary jenning's mint Indian Scout
Although there were plenty of interesting vehicles on display one that caught my eye was a 1928 Chevrolet van owned by Wayne from Sunbury. Wayne has a handyman maintenance business and regularly uses the van for work. Originally restored by Don the Handyman, Wayne purchased the vehicle from the Bendigo swap meet some 6 years ago. Flat out at 74kph running through a 3 speed gearbox the 4 cylinder Chevy is not your ideal tradesman’s vehicle but Wayne says he gets the van out as much as practical. “Yeah it gets plenty of interest when I pull up out the front of a National bank to do a maintenance job” he said. Wayne added “people like to get photos taken standing in front of the van which can be quite funny at times” he said. Sitting inside the van it was quite easy to visualise the 20’s and 30’s and what the times would have been like back then. Certain vehicles can send you back in time and Wayne’s Chevy van was certainly one of them.Anyone need a job done?
Another 3 hours was spent walking around the incredible display of vehicles with no doubt a story to be told about every single machine. Sponsored by the RACV, the display and setting was memorable and one not to miss next year. My opinion of purchasing a FG-X G6E Falcon and the ongoing problems with this car.
This problem could also include XR6, XR8, SPRINT, GT
Purchased or thinking of purchasing a new car? Read this and you will see that Australia desperately needs lemon laws.
Ford Reference number 200139013, case manager Alex.

On the 8th August my wife and I purchased the last of the Falcons, a G6E top of the range Ford. This was supposed to be a dream car for my wife. We needed a freeway cruiser that could comfortably cover long distances safely and be extremely comfortable, instead we ended up with a nightmare we have not been able to use for five months and Ford have had the car for the last six weeks and cannot fix the problems.
The first problem was the door trims. The vinyl was peeling away from the pockets in the front doors. Ford inspected the trims and then checked the vehicle history only to find that the trims had already been replaced once. (The car was a Ford Executive vehicle). An upholsterer was called in and repaired the door trims and I was told that he used an incredibly strong glue and I would have no more problems. A month later I was back with the same problem and you guessed it, they have been re-glued. If you have Terracotta trim check for peeling around the door pockets. The case manager stated that the vinyl was peeling because the heater was malfunctioning (read below) and the heat was affecting the glue?
Two weeks after the purchase we realized the air-conditioner was not working, so we visited the local dealer who checked it out and found there was no gas, so it was recharged with gas and dye . Approximately 6 weeks later, not working again so back to the dealer who was unable to find a leak so unit was re-gassed again, about 6 weeks later the same again. The car was booked in for the 8th February for the dashboard to be removed to find a leak. After the dashboard was removed no leak could be found so the condenser was removed from the car and it was found to be porous. Condenser was replaced and air-conditioner was re-gassed.
My wife had always complained that the interior of the car was hot and we just thought that was because the air-conditioner was not working but in actual fact the climate control was stuck on heat and it was not until the air-conditioner was repaired that this was realized. I picked the car up on Thursday 11th Feb. and started driving home, sweat was trickling into my eyes , my T-shirt was saturated and I could feel sweat running down my legs. The climate control was on Lo and fan was at full speed, I put a thermometer in front of all the vents and the air coming out was at a steady 47degrees, outside temperature was 31degrees.
I now realized why my wife had not driven the car since the end of September. I had picked up the car and driven for half an hour and I could not drive it any more. While the car was ok in midwinter, once the warmer weather arrived the heat was intolerable.
The car was immediately returned to Ford who have now had it for six weeks, and have been unable to locate the problem so there is no end in sight.
They have replaced many parts including the Hin,ICC 8inch colour screen and climate control and it has made no difference. Ford have escalated the problem and it is now in the hands of Ford Engineers although all work is still being carried out by the local Ford dealer.
I have asked for a replacement vehicle. This was agreed to on Wednesday 16th March by the case manager, however on Thursday 17th a lady with an American accent calling herself Shana rang me to state that they would be continuing with the repairs and they would not be replacing the car.
I cannot believe that Ford spends so much money on advertising to attract customers only to kiss them off if you have problems.
We have not had the use of our new car for over 5 months now as it was not used once the weather started to warm up (We live in Central Victoria).
We would like Ford to reimburse us for the car or replace the car and give us an apology.
We have contacted Consumer Affairs.
Australia desperately needs Lemon Laws, problems like this could happen to you.
I will be voting for Senator Ricky Muir of the Motoring Enthusiasts Party at the forthcoming elections, please do likewise.
Please share this post or comment, suggestions other than burning or crushing the car welcomed.

Congratulations to St Andrews Cricket Club on their first ever Show and Shine.
This was held on Sunday 31st January at Cole Reserve Pascoe Vale and what a pleasant surprise.
The event was well run and some very nice cars and motorbikes made the effort to turn out even though the city had a heavy drenching from heavy rain overnight.
I took a few photos but I had forgotten to charge my phone, I missed out on a photo of a very nice pale green 1949 Austin A40 Devon Tourer.
When I see modern classics like this GT Falcon, I am glad the Australian National Show and Shine is open to all models of cars and motorbikes even latest models.

The Australian National Show and Shine had another very successful show on Sunday thanks to the tremendous support of the local community, our many sponsors and the huge number of volunteers on the day. It makes me very proud when all day long I receive positive feedback on the many different aspects of the event from the music of local artists Jimmy Davidson and the Eurokafellas to the beautiful surroundings of Seven Creeks Park and the friendly smiling faces of the many locals who helped out.
The event started out facing major hurdles that had not been experienced by the organisers before. The AFL Grand Final the day before, a long weekend that was announced unexpectedly and extremely hot dry weather for this time of year which all could have caused a significant drop in the numbers attending, but due to a brilliant marketing campaign by a talented local lady the numbers attending were consistent with the last two years. This marketing campaign was carried out on Facebook at extremely low cost ($100) and reached over twenty thousand people, mainly in Melbourne initially but it soon spread to most of Victoria over the last week before the event targeting anyone associated with vintage, classic or muscle cars. You can see why traditional advertising is suffering at the hands of the internet.
The quality of the exhibits continues to surprise visitors with some outstanding vehicles on show. The Euroa event is one of only a few car shows that allows the latest models to be on display and as the Event Director I was fortunate to be given a glimpse of the future of motoring by Mr Ken Morris of Longwood, who not only took the time to show me his new car prior to the event but also took my wife and I for a drive. This car is a luxury four door sedan of generous proportions, it is permanently connected to the internet so we were listening to a USA music station as we drove and it also communicates with the factory in the US, updates software and does diagnostic checks automatically. There is no servicing required apart from brake and safety checks and no fuel costs. This car is the fastest production car in the world from 0 to 100kmh yet it weighs 2.5 tonnes and easily leaves behind Ferraris, Lamborghinis and other exotic sports cars. We drove in virtual total silence while Ken explained the many features of the car and the best thing about this car was the lack of fuel costs as this car is the latest Tesla and is powered by batteries and has a range of 500kms. A new Tesla charging station has been built at the Shell Service Centre at Euroa and Ken can fast charge his car at no cost, the batteries have an eight year unconditional warranty. This car was immensely popular with visitors at the show.
The Strathbogie Shire ground staff have to be commended for the outstanding job they did in the preparation of the Seven Creeks Park. I have been a resident of Euroa for eight years and have never seen it looking better. I asked about several bare patches in the lawns and it seems that the local ducks are over-grazing areas of the park. The ducks are very popular with visitors who feed them but obviously not feeding them enough.
One side effect of the event was that with the integration of the parkland around the bowling club into the show and with the recent major works undertaken by the Honouring our Heroes and unveiling of the VC winners statues I had never noticed the condition of Twomey’s bridge before until I was looking at pedestrian traffic flow during the event. This bridge definitely needs major beautification works and would be good for someone who would like a serious challenge.
Thank you to all our supporters and volunteers, our aim is to showcase Euroa and the Shire of Strathbogie and attract visitors to this beautiful region. I would like to thank the Strathbogie Shire Council for their support, the many sporting clubs and schools for the variety of food stalls, all the service clubs especially the Lions who ran the street market and the Rotary Club who manned the gates, proceeds of which are earmarked for Euroa Aged Care. A special thank you to the forty judges from all over Victoria who worked in the unseasonal heat, the Third Age Club who worked tirelessly to cater for the judges and VIPs, Senator Ricky Muir who assisted with the presentation of the trophies, Deb Ellis and Strathbogie Youth Group who entertained the younger generation with great music and skateboard demos, Perry Meka and Global Traffic Management for the Traffic Management and the loan of their tilt tray tow truck for two days, Euroa Miniature Railway who entertained the children all day and to the township of Euroa for putting up with the inconvenience and noise all day. Hopefully the benefits to the town far outweigh the inconvenience and noise.
Congratulations to Mr Roger Burnett who won the RACV Best in Show trophy with his magnificent 1948 Mercury Convertible.

Skydive Euroa will once again be skydiving over Euroa during the Show and Shine.
It is hoped that they will be able to drop in close to the event but with so many trees and power lines in the vicinity this will be a difficult task, safety will be paramount.
I vividly remember my first skydive, it was a gift to celebrate my 60th birthday. It seemed all too quickly that I found myself sitting in the doorway at 15,000 feet about to jump out of a perfectly good plane into the unknown. The thrill of the free fall at speeds of over 200kph and then the snap as the parachute opened and the silence as we drifted gently back to earth. It was a gift I will never forget, plus I have the DVD of the drop to look back on in future years.
A couple of facts I didn't know about Skydive Euroa that I picked up from them during my recent visit, Euroa has 100 more good weather days for skydiving per year than further south over the Great Dividing Range and the Euroa Airport is the largest drop-zone in Victoria.
And would I do it again ? Yes, I would probably enjoy it more as I wouldn't be so nervous.

Tesla S P85D "Super Car" for Show and Shine.
This is the worlds latest supercar, the Tesla S P85D twin motor fitted with the "Insane Pack" upgrade. This family sedan is faster than all the latest Ferraris and Lamborghinis to 100 kph. There are many videos on YouTube showing them eating the dust of this innocuous looking family sedan. And if this isn't fast enough the owner has ordered the "Ludicrous Pack" which will be fitted shortly bringing this 2.5 tonne car's 0 to 100 kph time down to 3 seconds.
The owner will not only be bringing his car to our event but will be giving a talk at midday on the Tesla and alternative energy on the centre stage in Seven Creeks Park, Euroa.
Did I mention that this supercar runs solely on battery power and has a range of nearly 500kms.

The CFA will be showcasing a large selection of their fire fighting vehicles at this year's Show and Shine, from a 1938 Dodge through to their latest tankers, quick fill and hazmat vehicles.
Also on hand will be an information caravan so if you need any advice about the coming fire season or if you are interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter this is the ideal time to make enquiries. Firefighters will be in attendance to show visitors over the latest firefighting trucks so this is a not to be missed feature of the Show and Shine. The display will be in Foy St outside the Seven Creeks Hotel.

Disaster, the Morris Cowley has been damaged.
Stephan Hands rang me this morning to say that he had pulled over to the side of the road to allow a semi trailer to pass when the rear end of the car has given way. I have included a photo of some of the damage. If you look closely at the photo there are numerous radial cracks, the top of the banjo housing is split and Stephan believes he has also broken an axle. He also mentioned that the brake pedal has pulled away from the floor.
Not exactly the sort of car you can nip down to Super Cheap Auto and pick up replacement parts. I do not think it will make it to our event. The photo is of the rear axle.

Latest updated map of the event.
Quite a few changes from last year,
1. The CFA will be having a major display in Foy St opposite the Seven Creeks Hotel.
2. Trucks and Tractors have been moved from Foy St to outside the Bowling Club in area 5, this is a much larger area for them.
3. The Bowling Club area 5 is now fully incorporated into the event, there will be show cars and other attractions in this area.
4. Children's entertainment including a petting zoo, face-painting and balloon twisting will be near Twomey's Bridge (a quiet area) in area 5, these are all free along with the mini train rides. Also in this area will be camel rides (pay) and the Benalla Aviation Museum.
Access to this area is via either Foy St or Templeton St. If you are coming to Euroa from the North and you wish to go to area 5 turn down Templeton St, it will be much quicker.
If you are coming from Melbourne direction and you are going to the northern side of the creek consider going to the second run off ramp and coming into Euroa from the Northern end of town.
All traffic exiting the event from Foy St (both sides) will be encouraged to turn north towards Sydney, it is only one kilometre to the Hume Freeway where you can then head towards Melbourne. This way there will be no delays at the traffic lights for Melb bound traffic.
Foy St will be one-way until 1pm.

Worlds oldest Morris Cowley commercial vehicle will be at the Show and Shine on Sunday October 4th.
Yes that is a mine sitting in the back of it ! This mine carrier dates from 1916, the mine on the back is one of 90,000 manufactured in Britain during the First World War, these were transported to the docks and loaded on ships to be placed in the North Sea to try to protect shipping from the U Boat menace.
WRM the manufacturer of the Morris also had munitions contracts including the manufacture of grenades of which 75 million were made by various works in Britain during the war.
This is a very interesting vehicle with an interesting history, full details can be seen at the show. This Morris is one of only 37 made.
Don't forget that Sunday 4th October is the first day of daylight saving.

Photo - Australian Motoring Enthusiasts party's Senator Ricky Muir will attend the Australian Nation
Australian Motoring Enthusiasts party's Senator Ricky Muir will attend the Australian National Show and Shine in Euroa on Sunday 4th October.
Show and Shine Event Director John Mason met with Senator Muir after attending the Aftermarket Auto Parts Expo in Melbourne in April.
John said that he had explained the community involvement in the event and how highly rated it was by Unique Cars Magazine and the motoring community.
"During the conversation I suggested to him that if possible we would love for him to attend our event and see for himself the quality of the exhibits and also for him to visit this area and see our historic town and the Strathbogie Shire," he said.
John sent a formal invitation to Senator Muir and said he was pleasantly surprised to receive an email confirming Senator Muir's and his family's attendance.
"We are looking forward to showing off our hometown and the Strathbogie Shire to Senator Muir," John said.
"This year's event is shaping up to be the best yet, bookings are coming in thick and fast.
"The quality of the entrants improves every year with exotic and rare cars and motorbikes now the norm and not the exception.
"The street market has only a few sites left, the dodgem cars will be operating and once again the Euroa Miniature Railway will be giving free rides to children all day.
"Attendees can sit on the grass and listen to Jimmy Davidson or the Eurokafellas sing out all those timeless classics.
"Music and BMX demos will also be featured at the skate ramp in Kirkland Ave ably organised by the Strathbogie Youth Group.
"One thing this event is becoming noted for is the variety of hot country food on offer at country prices, come along and enjoy some good music and a bite to eat and have an enjoyable day out in Seven Creeks Park.
Prices are the same as last year, show cars and motorbikes $5, visitors $2 and the cost is free for children under 16-years-old.

1972 BOLWELL NAGARI 351 4V HO
I have attached two photos of my BOLWELL NAGARI Sports which I have owned for the last 22 years. It is my fourth NAGARI I have owned, in fact BOLWELL Nagaris have always been a car in my life!
The car pictured is a 1972 factory built car fitted with a Ford 351 4V Cleveland engine that is in fact a HO engine, it is mated to a Ford top loader 4speed gearbox and runs to a Ford 2.93 - 1 limited slip differential.
The car is an excellent cruising car due to its gearing. Many people are unaware when they see the car that it was in fact built in Melbourne Australia. It's design is really excellent and most people looking at the car often think it would be made in Italy!!
There were about 118 Nagaris built between 1970 - 1974 of which only 15 were the soft top sports model that is pictured here.
The name NAGARI means flowing in the Aboriginal language and the flowing lines of the design are testimony to the name.
The performance is exhilarating with a good 300 BHP on tap in a body weighing only 920kg. This car is structurally sound with a full length backbone chassis and fibreglass body similar to a Lotus Elan. The NAGARI handles and rides well and suffers none of the usual banging and bumps of a low production sports car. In its day it compared favourably to the Jaguar V12 E Type roadster. Today the BOLWELL NAGARI is becoming quite sought after in the Australian muscle car search, recently Wheels Magazine published an archive test of a Ford GTHO Falcon and made favourable mention of the BOLWELL NAGARI they drove to the Ford factory to pick up the test GTHO.
The NAGARI will be on display at the Australian National Show and Shine.
Thank you, Ross.

1963 MORRIS MINI 850 RESURRECTION.
A friend was looking around for an old car to restore from his favourite era, the 1960s, and as he couldn't afford an E Type Jaguar he looked for a car that had new and innovative features and was a British icon - it had to be a Mini.
He found one that was highly recommended by the "gentleman" who was selling it. While he was plied with coffee he was shown over the "gentlemens" RollsRoyce and told of the original owner and the meagre 65,000 miles the Mini had travelled.
The car was a 1963 Morris Mini 850 that looked a bit sad and sorry but he was assured the rust spots were only superficial and that the car would actually start and run.
It had no upholstery and had sloshes of old paint on many dents and rust patches and he could see the ground through the driver's footwell.
As he had hired a trailer and travelled a considerable distance and was looking forward with great anticipation to owning a mini, he was loathe to leave without it, so the deal was done and it was loaded onto the trailer.
On closer inspection after arriving home the rashness of his decision became apparent.
The sills were full of rust and had to be cut out, every panel required a lot of work or replacement and all of the mechanicals were worn out - but having started there was no going back.
This was not going to be a minor refurbishment but a nut and bolt bare metal rebuild.
As you can see from the photos this has been a major project, an MG Metro engine was located and rebuilt, all rust was cut out and replaced, gearbox overhauled, suspension stripped and all new parts fitted along with upgraded brakes. Hopefully it will be ready in time for the Show and Shine.

Ford Ranger XLT 2015 Rambo-mobile
Came across this Ford Ranger in my travels today and I thought you might be interested. This is an excellent example of the versatility of vinyl wrap and the guys at Essendon Ford deserve a pat on the back for this over the top Combat Ranger.
This would be great if you were into Rambo or urban warfare. It started out as a black Ranger and can be again if you peel off the vinyl wrap. Everyone who enters the showroom makes a beeline to check it out, amazing what you can do with matte army green vinyl, most people are happy to do a bonnet or change the colour of their roof. Love the wheels. (Lol)

Wow!
Pedders display at our event is going to be impressive, George Karadimas has decided to bring his racing Falcon FG-X which will certainly make this a busy area of the Show and Shine. It is great that they have an open door policy allowing visitors to sit in the cars to take photos, I can see the huge smiles on kids faces already.
