13th Beach, VIC/AUS (Saturday 24th February, 2018): The first round of the HIF Victorian Longboard Titles presented by City to Surf Mobile Café has kicked off in small waves at Clubbies (13th Beach) on the Bellarine Peninsula. 

Opening the day in the Open Mens Logger Division, Reigning Victorian Open Mens Champion Ben Considine (Barwon Heads) used his local knowledge of the tricky 13th Beach banks to take out a convincing win in the first Quarterfinal. 

"The waves were small out there, but I am stoked to make it through to the Semi Finals". Said Considine.

"Hopefully we will get some more swell tomorrow at Ocean Grove". 

Considine later on in the morning also took out a emphatic win in his Open Mens Quarterfinal, booking a berth in the Semi Finals in the division. Considine scored a 15.34 heat total out of a possible 20 points. 

Other male standout performers of the day were Will Cousins (Torquay), Tomaso Bellasai (Mornington) and Liam Mccafferty (McCrae) and Liam Griggs Kennelly (Aireys Inlet). 

In the Open Womens Division former Australian Champion Emma Webb (Torquay), was too strong for her fellow competitors in the tough conditions. Webb scored a 14.50 total of out a possible 20 points in her semi final to book a spot in the Open Womens Final.

Female stand out performers included Angela King (Torquay) who not only cemented a spot in the Open Women's Final but also advanced to the Semi Finals in the Open Mens Logger Division. Molly Powell (Anglesea) also surfed exceptionally well in the small conditions. 

Competition will resume at 7.15am Sunday at Ocean Grove Main Beach.
