13th Beach, VIC/AUS (Friday 23rd February, 2018): The first round of the HIF Victorian Longboard Titles presented by City to Surf Mobile Café is set to launch this weekend on the Bellarine Peninsula.
 
Over 60 of the best longboard and logger competitors in the state will be lining up to earn valuable ratings points in the race to a spot in the Victorian Longboard Team.
 
Surfers competing in the event include former Australian champions Ben Considine (Barwon Heads), Greg Brown (Jan Juc), Molly Powell (Anglesea), John Lane (Torquay), Emma Webb (Jan Juc) and Bob Smith (Jan Juc).
 
“It’s fantastic to see the longboard community gather together again for the state titles” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.
 
“We have some fantastic surfers return to the event this year with former Australian Champ Emma Webb and Molly Powell boosting the Women’s division.”
 
“With one of the biggest fields in recent memory there will be some fantastic surfing all weekend.”
 
Divisions for the event include Under 18 through to Over 65 along with the more traditional Logger events.
 
Round two of the series will be held at Point Impossible on the Surf Coast on May 19 & 20.
 
Surfing Victoria official forecaster Coastalwatch is forecasting a tricky weekend of surf with a small rising swell and offshore winds on Saturday morning before a westerly change that may force a relocation of the event to Ocean Grove Main Beach on Sunday.
 
First call for the event will be made at 13th Beach - Boings Car Park at 7:00am for a 7:15am start on Saturday.
