Bells Beach, VIC/AUS (Wednesday, 20 May 2015): Surfing Victoria and Surfing Australia are proud to be bringing back the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles to the culturally significant grounds of Bells Beach on Victoria’s Surf Coast.
 
The event, in its 4th year at Bells Beach will host a start studded field with former champions Russell Molony (Central Coast, NSW) and Otis Carey (Coffs Harbour, NSW) being joined by Former Australian Pro Junior Champion Soli Bailey (Byron Bay, NSW), Big Wave Charger Ryan Hipwood (Gold Coast, QLD) and former Pipe Master Robbie Page (Wollongong, NSW).
 
Former champion, Russell Molony, is looking forward to coming back down to Bells Beach to compete at the titles.
 
“I am super excited to get down to bells and cant wait to catch up with everyone.”
 
“This is easily the best event all year and I can’t wait to be part of it again.”
 
Incoming Surfing Victoria CEO, Adam Robertson, is impressed with the field for this year’s event.
 
“Each year, the event seems to be gathering more momentum. This year we have some seriously good competitors with Russell, Otis, Soli and Robbie. With the addition NITV webcasting the finals day, this year is going to be better than ever.”
 
“I am looking forward to seeing them all surf and hopefully we get some great waves.”
 
Local surfers in the mix for the event include current Indigenous Champion, Jordie Campbell (Sandy Point), Anthony Hume (Torquay) and Cormach Evans (Jan Juc).
 
For the first time ever, surfing fans can catch all the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles finals action as NITV (Channel 34 free-to-air & Channel 144 Foxtel) broadcasts live from Bells Beach.
 
From Monday 25 to Friday 29 May, the national Indigenous broadcaster will bring viewers daily updates, competitor interviews and news across its digital platforms with live streaming of the Finals event. The channel will follow the digital coverage with a special broadcast recap and Around the 44 competitor discussion show on Sunday 7 June.
