JEFF WATSON JOINS KEITH FLACH RACING FOR A LIMITED BIG BLOCK MODIFIED SCHEDULE IN 2015
Keith Flach Racing along with team members and the entire Flach family welcomes Jeff Watson to the team in 2015. When Watson straps into the Keith Flach Racing Team car, he will be steering the Gould Erectors and Flach Crane #47 big block modified. Jeff Watson of Sheffield, MA will be competing with the modifieds on a limited basis in the coming season.
In 2000, Watson was Rookie of the Year in the sportsman division at the Lebanon Valley Speedway and went on to win four Sportsman Championships in 2006, 2007, 2010 and again in 2014.
“We couldn’t be happier adding such an ambitious driver to our team”, Keith Flach added, “He is a go-getter and I’m excited and looking forward to a productive year as we plan to learn from each other the different aspects of racing”. The long friendship between the Flach’s and Watson, along with their combined dedication to the sport, is what brought about this decision to merge in the coming season.
There was much discussion around what the car number would be. Keith wanted to keep his older brother (JC Flach) next to him and the #77 is a family stone. Keith’s car number is 43, after his favorite driver, Richard Petty. The decision was to combine the numbers and go with the #47 for the Jeff Watson ride. “This is a way for me to honor my brother and if Watson and I are ever near each other on the speedway, when I see that #47 it will be a driving force for me to race harder.
Flach and Watson have only raced on the track together a few times over the years so it’s a new beginning all around for the KFR (Keith Flach Racing) team.
“I look forward to racing with such an awesome team and the entire KFR team’s knowledge creates an exciting atmosphere”. Watson continued to say with great excitement, “I can’t wait to race with Keith, Kenny Tremont, Brett Hearn, JR Heffner and the many other big names in modified racing”. Jeff would also like to extend an appreciative “thank you” to Keith, John and Liz Flach and everyone involved at KFR for providing him with this great opportunity.
In 2015 look for Keith Flach Racing every Friday night at the Albany Saratoga Speedway, a track where he has two career wins. Every Saturday night, Keith will be a weekly competitor at the Lebanon Valley Speedway, a track where Keith was a feature winner in 2015 and owns four career wins. In addition, Keith Flach will compete on the Super DIRTcar Series.
