The Angolan Basketball Federation was founded in 1976 as the 1st President Eng. José Jaime Castro Guimarães, was appointed by an order coming from the Secretary of State for Sport.

 

Objectives

Development and expansion of Basketball and Basketball projection in continental and international terms; so the rank dignifies giving prestige to the country.

 

Structure

The FAB initially worked in a given building located across the street from Queen Ginga, in Luanda, in the third (3rd) Floor, was ceded by the former secretary of the sport, having moving to the Sports Complex of the Citadel in 10-1996.

 

Exercised their mandate since its function to the following individuals:

Eng. José Jaime Castro Guimarães, exercised in the period 1976 -. 1986 
Eng. Carlos Manuel Patricio Teixeira, exercised in the period 1986 -. 1996 
Dtº António Pires Ferreira, served from 1996 -. 2004 
Dtº Gustavo Dias Vaz da Conceição, exercised in the period from 2004 to 2008.
