The Victorian Mini Sprints 2014/15 Gold Cup series continued with the latest round at Ballarat’s

Redline Raceway held on Sunday the 8th of March & in a barnstorming display, Victorian Champion

Dave May romped to victory ahead of Kevin Bomford & Matt Parsons in a super quick display by all

competitors.

Three heat races determined starting positions for the feature event, in a display of how close the

top runners are in the division there were three different heat winners with eventually podium

finishers Parsons, then Bomford & May (# 4 Tritech Lubricants/ Noske Transport – GSXR 1000 Suzuki)

winning races.

Parsons started the night well defeating May who had to come from the back of the field to pass

Bomford, Jason Lynn, Darren Schnoor (# 6 Browns Stockfeeds – R1 Yamaha), Luke Hickson & Kyle

Stathopoulos in the first heat race.

Bomford (# 32 Elite Metals– R1 Yamaha) then proved to strong for May in the second heat with a

strong display from Hickson who continues development showing he is on his way to the front of the

pack. Lynn (# 24 Sponsor wanted – R1 Yamaha) & Schnoor completed the field whilst Parsons didn’t

finish with a broken throttle spring & Stathopoulos ended up on his side after bouncing off the wall

& then clipping the pole line wind row gently.

May’s first victory had to wait until the third heat when he defeated Schnoor & Hickson (# 21v Alfred

Engineering– R1 Yamaha) with Parsons & Bomford finding the others too hard to catch. Lynn &

Stathopoulos rounded out the field.

The feature race may not have been close in the way of finishes, however each & every driver was

wickedly fast with May, Bomford, Parsons (# 73 Jettco – Yamaha R1), Hickson & Lynn rounding

out the result. Schnoor was disappointed to be a non finisher with a broken torsion arm as was

Stathopoulos (# 99 Kercar Transport – R1 Yamaha).Displaying TopThreeRedline.JPG
