Dear Gymnastics Community,
 
Many of you are aware of the struggles faced by Victorian WAG Coach Janie Ahlstrom and her family.  In 2011 her 5 year old daughter Amelia was involved in a serious burns accident that left her with 3rd degree burns to 40% of her body.  Little Amelia has endured 20 operations over the past 2 years which has resulted in her having a permanent tracheostomy – she can no longer speak.  Janie and her family need support to find the $90,000 for Amelia to travel to Switzerland for the operation to fix her trachea which will (hopefully) get Amelia’s voice back as well as a further $30,000 for the associated costs (including flights, accommodation and follow up treatment) not to mention the other significant ongoing costs of Amelia’s medical treatment.
 
Firstly FANTASTIC NEWS – through the generosity of the community we have now raised the $90,000 medical cost of the operation!! Now we are turning our attention to raising the final $30,000 needed.

To raise money for the family this Gymnastics ebay Auction has been created to allow the entire Australian Gymnastics Community the opportunity to bid on such special and amazing items such as:
 

 

  • 1 hour private coaching session with Australian WAG National head Coach Peggy Liddick and an official Olympic Australian Team training leotard.
  • Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Championship gymnastics memorabilia signed by some of the world’s most popular and successful gymnasts including – Nastia Liukin (USA), Shawn Johnson (USA), Lauren Mitchell (AUS), Georgia Bonora (AUS),  Ashleigh Brennan (AUS), Steliana Nistor (ROM), Vanessa Ferrari (ITA) and Australian team gymnasts.
  • 1 hour private coaching sessions with some of Australia’s most successful and popular Olympic gymnasts Georgia Bonora, Shona Morgan and Ashleigh Brennan  along with signed official Olympics memorabilia.

 
 
If you can help by promoting Amelia’s E-Auction by displaying the attached printable flyer in your club or in your newsletter/Face book page and handing out the Flyer to your gymnastics families – we would really appreciate it.
 
All funds from this Auction will go directly to Janie and her family for Amelia’s medical treatment.  Let’s all rally behind a very special member of the Australian Gymnastics Community and help her get her voice back!
