TIME IS RUNNING OUT! There are only 5 days left to enrol in the GTAS Professional Development Congress. This year's Congress is filling up fast. The Guest Speaker at the 2016 GTAS PD Congress is Ji Wallace. Ji is a trampoline gymnast. He is not a stranger to Tasmania, having visited on many occasions, especially in the early 2000's as the Trampoline Gymnastics program was beginning to grow in Tassie!
Ji is the only Olympic medallist in the history of Australian Gymnastics. On September the 23rd, 2000, Ji Wallace propelled himself into history books and into the heart of the Australian gymnastics community, by winning a silver medal in the Men’s Individual Trampoline Event, held at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. Enrol in the GTAS congress and come along and hear about Ji's experiences from his amazing career.
You may recognise a face (or maybe more) from the photo below (taken in 2002). One of these athletes is still heavily involved in Trampoline Gymnastics today, can you pick which one?

What a great vibe at PCYC Launceston tonight as trampoline and gymnastics join forces on the downstairs basketball court! After almost 4 weeks of closure, PCYC Launceston is open for classes again, albeit in a smaller space (for the time being). If happy, smiling faces are anything to go by, all is well in the PCYC Launceston Gymnastics Program. Management and staff are doing a wonderful job under tough conditions, however, they along with parents, are waiting to hear when the club will be able to be fully reopened again and can operate at full capacity.

Congratulations to all who competed in the recent Trampoline State Level Championships. List of State Champions below.
The State Trampoline Level Championships was held At Launceston PCYC on the 29th & 30 August. The first day of competition was ripe with excitement as the level 5-10 athletes took to the floor to battle it out to become the champion for their event. The atmosphere created by the crowd for these athletes was extremely supportive an intense and a great day was had by all. The second day brought the state’s best level 3-4 athletes to the competition floor with some great routines and very close competition being presented by these younger competitors. Congratulations to the following state champions and all other competitors involved in this great event. And thanks, as always, to the tireless volunteers without whom this event could continue to be the success it is.
