Surfcoast Longboards Charity Event Takes Off.

The annual Surfcoast Longboards 2 day charity event started today in clean off-shore conditions at Point Impossible on Geelong’s Surf Coast shire.

The event is a well known local fundraiser that benefits either local community groups or local families.

This year close to 90 competitors will compete in the classes from Junior Girls right up to the over 60’s. In all there are 8 classes that cater for longboard surfers from all eras.

As part of the festival an auction night is being held tonight at the Torquay Frontbeach Café with both surfing and non-surfing goods up for auction.

Heats and quarter finals were conducted today with a full program of semi finals and finals to be conducted tomorrow.
