THE race to be the winner in the second round of the AHG Easy As 123 Triple Crown just got that little bit harder with the late nomination of Jamie Veal.
The Victorian throttle stomper, who has been in outstanding form this season in both World Series Sprintcars and the Ultimate Sprintcar Series on the east coast, will suit up for high-profile WA team Monte Motorsport for the second round of the mini-series at the Perth Motorplex this Saturday night.
Veal will be hard to beat in the W17 as traditionally he has been very fast around the Motorplex, being a winner there before in both his own V35 and even when subbing in the Krikke Motorsport W2 in the Triple Crown last season.
He is joined in the field by fellow Victorian Tim Van Ginneken who won the WA Sprintcar Championship at the Motorplex on April 9 and returns in the Steve Crabbe-owned W56.
And the interstate invasion continues with Luke Dillon in the Muir Motorsport W53.
Nominations: 8 David Priolo, 10 Andrew Priolo, 11 Jason Kendrick, 13 Lee Redmond, 14 Jason Pryde, 17 Jamie Veal, 25 Taylor Milling, 26 Trent Pigdon, 44 Ben Ellement, 45 Daryl Clayden, 46 Lee Nash, 53 Luke Dillon, 56 Tim Van Ginneken, 60 Cameron Gessner, 77 Brad Maiolo, 79 Scott Chatwin, 80 James Inglis, 83 Troy Lawson, 87 Carl Dowling, 89 Kye Scroop, 97 Mitchell Wormall and 99 Jamie Maiolo.

AFTER he won the WA Sprintcar Championship last week Victorian Tim Van Ginneken (pictured below by Peter Roebuck) will be return to the scene of the crime when round two of the AHG Easy As 123 Triple Crown is held at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday April 23.
Van Ginneken will once again be in the W56 owned by Steve Crabbe and the SJ Crushing team.
He is not the only interstate driver who is locked in.
Luke Dillon, after a successful recent run in the Muir Motorsport W53, also heads west to drive for that team again.
Dillon is no stranger to racing in WA but in recent times has raced the W26 owned by Diamond Bay Motorsport.
Just to confuse people – that car will also be at the Motorplex on Saturday week, but it will be driven by Trent Pigdon who made his debut in the car at the Motorplex last week.
Nominations: 8 David Priolo, 10 Andrew Priolo, 11 Jason Kendrick, 13 Lee Redmond, 14 Jason Pryde, 25 Taylor Milling, 26 Trent Pigdon, 44 Ben Ellement, 45 Daryl Clayden, 46 Lee Nash, 53 Luke Dillon, 56 Tim Van Ginneken, 60 Cameron Gessner, 77 Brad Maiolo, 79 Scott Chatwin, 80 James Inglis, 83 Troy Lawson, 87 Carl Dowling, 89 Kye Scroop, 97 Mitchell Wormall and 99 Jamie Maiolo.

VICTORIAN Tim Van Ginneken is the early leader in the AHG Easy As 123 Triple Crown after the first round was contested at the Perth Motorplex last Saturday night.
Van Ginneken banked 150 points thanks to his win in the 30-lap feature race that was also the 54th WA Sprintcar Championship.
Jamie Maiolo is second on 146 from Daryl Clayden on 144, Callum Williamson 142 and Taylor Milling on 140.
The mini-series at the end of the season will continue on Saturday April 23 and conclude on Saturday April 30.
Formats for the Triple Crown are a little bit different to the regular AHG Sprintcar Series, that was recently won by Brad Maiolo from Jamie Maiolo and Jason Kendrick, kicking off with qualifying.
Cars will hot lap and then go out two at a time for qualifying sessions.
And for the next two rounds the changes continue as we return to the Knockout series that was popular in the mini-series last year.
After time trials and heat races the top eight point scorers will seeded into a series of two-lap knockout rounds, two cars at a time.
It starts with 8th v 7th with the winner moving to the next round, and then we keep going until we have an overall winner who will then start from pole for the 30-lap final.
AHG Triple Crown top 10: Tim Van Ginneken 150, Jamie Maiolo 146, Daryl Clayden 144, Callum Williamson, 142, Taylor Milling 140, Aldo De Paoli 138, Troy Lawson 136, Lee Redmond 134, Scott Chatwin 132, Andrew Priolo 130.

The Sprintcar Entrants Group (SEG) makes the following statement in relation to a series of events at the Perth Motorplex, on Saturday, April 9, 2016.
The chief steward of the Perth Motorplex presented the driver of a car with an infringement notice, under the SCCA rule book, advising him of a 12-month exclusion from racing, effective immediately.
The driver in question received the paperwork as he prepared to race in the 360ci Sprintcar feature race.
The infringements refer to the running of the 410ci Sprintcar feature race that was held immediately prior to the 360ci race.
The allegations relate to: the driver walking onto the track under a caution period (yellow lights), contact with an official and throwing a steering wheel at a rival driver in the field of cars that was still rolling around on the track.
It has been alleged the driver handed the infringement notice back to the chief steward before his car was pushed back to the pits.
How the paperwork trail works:
A second copy of the infringement was handed to the WA branch of the Sprintcar Control Council of Australia, a third copy will go to the national SCCA and a fourth copy goes to Speedway Australia.

Well done to SJ Crushing Racing on their win last night.
SJ Crushing Racing
Well some of the fog has cleared, still cannot believe we won the 410 State title, I always new we had the equipment and the team to be a force in the 410 ranks just needed it all to gel.
Got to thank TVG for his awesome drive, but without Armie, Rob and Gavin, Scott Dicker (who was working this weekend) and Chris Dicker (Who was in hospital until Friday) and Trevor Anderson we could never have achieved such a massive win. I cannot thank you guys enough.
Special thanks to my lovely ladies- Janette and Annette who help me so much with all I do in this sport.
Also this year we have some great sponsors-
Robin Rindel from Total Materials Handling
Chris and Vanessa Dicker from Mandurah Bolt Supplies- Chris is the driver behind this team without him it would all still be just a busted arse effort on my part.
Steve Martin and Todd Davis from Martin Engineering
Steve Batka from In Front Business solutions.
Graham Wilson from Rail Possessions Australia.
Trevor Green from Lubrimaxx
Frank Scardifield from Scardifields Smash Repairs
To my sponsors I hope this win gives you the confidence to continue backing us.
Won with - VORTEX WINGS- J&J Chassis and a big DON OTT powering it all.

TVG is WA1
IN his first ever race at the Perth Motorplex, Victorian Tim Van Ginneken claimed the WA Sprintcar Championship on Saturday night from Jamie Maiolo and Daryl Clayden.
After only winning his first 410ci sprintcar feature race on the east coast only a few weeks earlier, Van Ginneken flew to WA to drive the W56 owned by Steve Crabbe from Mandurah.
He started from P3 for the 30-lap final that was scheduled earlier in the show than usual after the threat of rain.
Corey Hunter and Jason Pryde were the first casualties, out in the first lap after they came together when the field bunched up in front of them and they had nowhere to go.
Carl Dowling started on pole after he set quick time at the start of the night and also claimed a win in the heats.
Shaun Bradford started alongside Dowling for the main event after he also won a heat race.
Unfortunately for Bradford he struggled to get away on the start and fell back very quickly.
Jason Kendrick, who started P11, spun to the infield in high-speed fashion to avoid the carnage in front of him.
He managed to continue, albeit from the rear, on the restart.
Trent Pigdon, who was in his first drive in the Diamond Bay Motorsport W26, also headed infield as the field regrouped.
Ryan Farrell went into the fence in turn two on lap eight and as he tried to pull down to the infield and out of harm’s way, he was collected by Mitchell Wormall on the back straight.
Farrell then threw his steering wheel at Cameron Gessner who was rolling around in third.
Lee Redmond forced another restart with 10 laps remaining after he spun the #13, his first drive for the Wormall team.
Shaun Bradford attempted a massive slide job in pits bend soon afterwards but came up against slower cars that saw quite a few hit and damaged.
Dowling, who was still in a podium position, headed infield before the field raced away again.
Gessner was also out of the show after blowing a left-rear tyre with nine to go.
Ben Ellement was on a charge and back up to second, challenging Van Ginneken for the lead when he went into the fence hard, flipped and was out of the contest.
Jamie Maiolo, who started from P9, dug deep in the latter stages and crossed the line only 0.955 of a second behind Van Ginneken.
Clayden, who started from P12, did well to claim a podium position.
Callum Williamson put in a wormanlike effort, starting from P25 to get his way to fourth.
Taylor Milling started P8 and finished fifth, ahead of Aldo De Paoli (started from P24), Troy Lawson (from P19), Redmond and Scott Chatwin.
Jacob Lucas didn’t even make it past the heats, pulling a massive wheelstand and as the care came back down, flipped violently.
