100+ DRIVERS TO DO BATTLE AT REDLINE ON SATURDAY NIGHT 

Redline Raceway roars this Saturday night with the latest Street Stock battle when sixty Fords & 

Holden’s do battle in the Ballarat based 'Duo Mobile' supported Eliminator Cup with drivers from 

right around Victoria & South Australia set to do battle on top of the mount whilst race fans will get 

a healthy dose of open wheel Wingless Sprint action with forty cars expected to compete in a series 

round along with the super quick Mini Sprints.

Last  start feature winner at Redline Anthony Beare the current Australian champion returns to 

stamp his authority on the mount however the inform driver of Victoria at the moment Morris 

Ahearn is sure to throw down a challenge. Ahearn recently won three blue ribbon feature events in 

six days at Wahgunyah, Swan Hill & Warrnambool and will look to assert himself Saturday night at 

Redline.

Mick Dann is always a favourite at Redline and is close to a big win, could Saturday night be the 

night?

Victorian Champion Brad McClure is due for a change of fortune as incidents & breakdowns plague 

his season just as he is in a position to win. There is too many star drivers to mention however young 

gun Steve Watts, local star Darren Giacometti, Rick Throckmorton, South Australian brothers Mark & 

Steve Gartner, super qualifier Jason Degoldi, Lenny Bates, Matt Nelson who would race everything & 

anything including a Prius if he was given the chance........well maybe not a Prius yet get the picture, 

Chris Whatmore, Chris Stewart, Darren Forrest, the gals Megan Forrest & Brooke Ferguson & Darryl 

Atkinson are all in contention.

All the Street Stock drivers will be keen to impress in the last big event before the March national 

Street Stock title at the mount. 

Wingless Sprints return for an important series event with some Ballarat locals amongst the front 

runners in the field. Cousins Sam & James who both have a family history around the Delacombe 

area will be competing & easily in the top five favourites. The V6 Holden engines the division runs 

are all very evenly matched due to restrictions and rules & it very much becomes a battle of ability & 

set up as to who will go on to win. Keep an eye on The Balcombe family racers, father & son Peter & 

Wayne Logue, Geelong’s Andy Hibbert, Daniel Storer, Rhys Baxter, Glenn Watts & Travis Millar whilst 

another handful of drivers could knock off these guys if things pan out their way.

Mini Sprint action with the mostly motorcycle engined field is going to be wickedly quick around 

Redline with Dave May who recently won the speedweek series between Bairnsdale, Nyora & Laang 

Speedways will be challenged by Owen Bulman who won two of those feature events only to be 

pipped by May's consistency. Jason Lynn has impressed this season also and should be in amongst 

the battle along with Kevin Bomford, Danny Milton & Luke Hickson.

pensioners $15, kids 6 to 15 years of age $5 each under 6 is free or for a family of two adults and 

three kids $50
