JERSEY RUSH
NAPA AUTO PARTS & PIONEER POLE BUILDINGS PRESENT:
THE RETURN OF THE JERSEY RUSH TO NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY TUESDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 25
The roar of engines, the rush of adrenaline and the thrill of action fill New Egypt Speedway on Tuesday, August 25 as NAPA Auto Parts and Pioneer Pole Buildings present JERSEY RUSH V -- a double header event that will see the fastest cars on dirt, the 410 Sprint Cars and the mighty Modifieds, in a Small-Block/Big-Block challenge, compete at New Jersey’s D-shape half-mile clay oval.
For the past four years, JERSEY RUSH has become one of the most anticipated events of the racing season both on and off the track.
JERSEY RUSH offers a unique pre-race Meet & Greet where race fans are invited into the pit area from 5 to 6 PM. Race fans are encouraged to come early, get an autograph from their favorite drivers and catch a glimpse of the high-speed equipment before it enters the night’s competition. Coupled with a night full of fan interaction – contests, games, prizes and give-a-ways are a highlight of every attendees evening.
On the track, the action is fast and fierce. With a possible winner’s share of $5,000 up for grabs in the 410 Sprint Car division and a $3,000 pot for the Modifieds – JERSEY RUSH plays host to some of the tightest, wheel-banging competition you’ll ever witness.
In 2014, twenty-six year old Ryan Smith held off a hard late race charge from Lucas Wolfe to claim the $5,000 top-prize and his first career 410 Sprint Car victory. Previous race winners include: JJ Grasso (2011 & 2013) and Daryn Pittman (2012).
The sprint cars will compete in time trials to determine qualifying event starting positions. Top qualifiers from heat races will re-draw, along with the 3 fastest qualified cars based on time. The B-Main will round out the 24 car field for the 30 lap A-Main.
While fresh faces have filled 410 Victory Lane for the Big-Block/Small-Block Modifieds two of New Jersey’s greatest have dominated JERSEY RUSH action. Frenchtown, NJ’s Billy ‘The Kid’ Pauch and Neshanic, NJ’s Jimmy Horton have split the four previous JERSEY RUSH events– with Pauch winning in 2011, 2013 & 2014 and Horton claiming the 2012 event. The Modifieds offer a unique event rules package where sail panels are permitted for the Small-Blocks while the Big-Blocks must conform to standard body rules.
Drivers are encouraged to pre-enter for this event. Entry fee includes 3 Pit Passes (driver and 2 crew members), plus 3 EG Tire & Auto Center Pre-Race BBQ Tickets (4-5 PM) for the fee of $50.
General Admission ticket pricing for Tuesday, August 25 is $30 for Adults, Children 6-11 are $10 and Kids 5 & under are FREE! Pit Admission pricing is $35 and no license is required.

About Us |
Fort Dix Speedway - Plumsted Twp., NJ
Fort Dix Speedway (aka: New Egypt Speedway) was built as a dirt track in the 1950's and paved in the 60's. The Fort Dix name gave way to New Egypt Speedway, then later Central Jersey Speedway before continuous yearly action stop in the 1980's. The track would open back up occasionally, lastly for a short season in the early 1990's.
Rick Grosso bought the old New Egypt paved track from the Grabac family in the mid 90's. At first many East Windsor Speedway racers would make the drive down route 539, as New Egypt now once again offered area fans two nights of dirt track racing as the Flemington Fair Speedway was paved in 1991.
The speedway was enlarged and reconfigured three times under the Grosso family, to end up a small 1/2-mile "D" shaped clay speedway that would once again be in continuous operation since 1998.
Bill Miscoski & Fred Vahlsing then purchased the speedway from the Grosso's, and after their second season, put down new red clay and widened the speedway. New Egypt is currently a 7/16-mile clay surface D-shaped speedway. In 2013, Fred Vahlsing became sole-owner of New Egypt Speedway.
New Egypt Speedway was the last dirt speedway in New Jersey that featured DIRT Modifieds, and both of the World of Outlaw touring series.
Many great drivers have competed over the years at New Egypt Speedway, such drivers included: Ray Evernham, Jimmy Spencer, John Blewett and Tony Siscone to name just a few. More information may also be found at NJ Racing Nostalgia.
Some of the speedway's paved records are now being posted.
