Since bursting onto the scene as a young recruit from Irrewarra Beeac, Travis Woodmason has been a star of the GFL. This weekend we see the great man celebrate 150 senior games in the yellow black! A 2014 premiership player and inter-league representative, at his best Travis has been one of the best half forward flankers in the business. In recent years we have seen a fierce desire to get the best out of himself overcome a number of serious injuries. There is nothing better than seeing Woodmason banging them home from 50, with his trademark one finger salute endearing him to many a tiger fan over the years. Congratulations Trav on a brilliant effort so far!

Well done everyone on a great round.
U9 Blue - our youngest players had a tough match against St Joeys on Friday night but enjoyed running out in the Red White and Blue.
U9 Red - also played on Friday night at West. Great game and good to see many boys developing great skills
U10 - played on Saturday against St Mary's White and enjoyed a great game.
Zones are now in place in under 9 and under 10 games.
U11 - had a good hit out and win against Newtown on Saturday at Hurst.
U12 - had a tough encounter against Ammos White but had a comfortable win in the end.
Youth Girls - played a thrilling draw against Newtown & Chilwell this morning. Probably the first time Newtown haven't gone home with the 4 points. Well done girls.
U14 - had a great win against Corio this morning. A tough game affected by the wind but our boys ran out 18 point winners
U16A - faced a tough opponent in Torquay Papworth this morning. To their credit, the boys stormed home but fell 9 points short in the end.
U16B - played at Windsor Park against North Shore. They ran out comfortable 10 goal winners.

Cricket Announcement - Lymer joins the Dragons
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Michael (Mick) Lymer as cricket coach for the next two seasons.
Mick is an experienced coach within the GCA having coached Shelford to two out of the last three premierships. He is held in high regard within the GCA as a strong leader and classy allrounder having won both the batting and bowing averages for his premiership side this season.
Ash Carter has done an excellent job as coach for the past four seasons but unfortunately is now living in Melbourne and therefore was unable to commit to coaching this upcoming season.
All senior players have indicated that they will be staying with the Dragons next season, so we are excited with the appointment of Mick as coach and look forward to the 2016/17 season.

This will write another chapter in the history of McCarthy footballers. In recent years Ben McCarthy has played a starring role with the Geelong Falcons, now at the age of 19 we see him make his senior debut. Vercher joins former Victorian Netball League teammate and star goalshooter Bec Scott as the latest accomplished netballer to cross to Tigerland in the off-season.
Lucy shows amazing leadership for her age. Her defensive skills and team spirit will be an added asset for the Tigers. Lucy is a quick, agile player who reads the ball exceptionally well. She will extend the strength of the team's defence with her athleticism and intensity.
