Welcome back to the Thin Red Line for 2018!
We begin this edition by acknowledging all the award winners from the Squash Australiaand Squash & Racquetball Victoria Annual Awards jointly held at the Novotel Hotel in St Kilda last Friday.
Victoria had a number of national award winners on the night, including the Action Squash Club in Warrnambool winning the Club of the Year, Wodonga Squash & Racquetball taking out the Racquetball Club of the Year category and Garry Pedersenclaiming the Coach of the Year Award. The evening was also highlighted by Victoria being named the State of the Year for the third year in succession; a wonderful achievement by all involved with the S&RV community.
Complementing the national awards evening was the annual S&RV Awards Dinner, where two new S&RV Legends in Margaret Zachariah and Cameron White were honoured for their wonderful contributions to Victorian squash and racquetball, while the S&RV Life Members honour roll was expanded to 55 following the induction of Brian Galt-Smith, Ian Kent and Robin Reed. S&RV congratulates all of our new Legends and Life Members on their inductions and thanks them for their outstanding contributions to Squash and Racquetball in Victoria.
Head to the 'News Desk' below where you can view the full range of award winners from both events on the night.
On the court, our Victorian Squash and Racquetball GP Circuits are now underway for 2018 with the first events for each being held earlier this month. Head to the 'Around the Courts' section below to view the results and full event recaps for the opening round tournaments.
