Just an update on the next meeting at South Coast Raceway – Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars March 3rd & 4th 2017.
The track will be open Friday from 4pm to 9pm.
Cost is just $30 to race Friday, Street Cars & Bike, Comp Cars & Bikes all welcome
Entry forms for Friday are available at the gate.
Your Saturday entry is separate from Friday; you will need to fill out a Friday entry form.
Pre-purchased crew tickets will cover your crew for both Friday and Saturday.
Weekend crew and Spectator passes can be purchased at the gate for $35 this covers both Friday and Saturday.
Any crew or spectators camping at the track on Friday night must have pre-purchased a weekend armband at the gate.
Entries close this Monday.

In an exciting innovation, Willowbank Raceway’s new Super Saver Ticket Deals provide Drag Racing fans with the opportunity to save from $55 up to a massive $1050 on their 2020 race admission tickets through the range of new spectator passes just released. For the first time the Willowbank is offering four levels of multi-event passes for advance purchase at heavily discounted prices. Now available are packages from a Three Days of Thunder Pass providing admission to one day of each of the three 400 Thunder Professional Series events at the track next year right up to a full Race Fan Season Pass with entry including VIP Parking to every event conducted by Willowbank Raceway* in 2020.
Announcing the new discount packages, Willowbank Raceway Chairman, Tony Wedlock, said ‘We’ve been looking at the concept of a season pass for some time but realized a full year package wouldn’t suit everyone. The options we have developed provide great savings for loyal fans regardless whether they want to just see three days spread across our big 400 Thunder Professional Series events or right up to coming along to almost eighty days of race action over the year.”
With the holiday season just around the corner, anyone with a Drag Race fan in the family should make their Christmas shopping very simple by checking out the awesome ticket packages available from just $100. Apart from a new race car, we couldn’t think of a better present to slip under the tree but please, make your purchase online or by contacting the Willowbank Raceway office of (07) 5461 5461 by Friday December 13 to ensure delivery before Christmas.

Willowbank Raceway management and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of U.S. Pro Mod racer Johnny Rocca. Johnny was an extremely popular visitor to our country during the 1996-97 season racing his iconic ‘Tin Indian’ 1933 Willys alongside fellow American, John Scialpi in the then fledgling Doorslammer category at drag strips right across Australia including at Round two of the 1997 Castrol New Year Series at Willowbank as seen in this video. His friendly manner and great showmanship made him a crowd favourite everywhere he competed. Rocca, 77, passed away peacefully at his home on November 19 surrounded by his family.

PDRA DRAGWARS IS CANCELLED DUE TO HURRICANE DORIAN

PDRA Racing and GALOT Motorsports Park officials have joined together in making the decision to cancel the PDRA DragWars VI, presented by: Pro Line Racing event scheduled for this weekend due to the changes in the storm track of Hurricane Dorian. In an overnight change, the storm has shifted further north and bearing straight down on the North Carolina area harder than everyone predicted earlier in the week.
We are very sorry to make this decision after saying that we are going racing but when the storm changes and tells you that you need to look again, we did just that. Safety will always and continue to be priority in our racing series, on and off the track. As much as we all want to race, we just do not see it being possible and we do not want to have anyone stranded or away from their families during this potential natural disaster. All of us at the PDRA and GALOT Motorsports Park are deeply sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused and as noted earlier in the week, both GALOT and Virginia Motorsports Park facilities are open for housing rigs that need to get away from the storm.
Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience that this causes but we want to keep you all as safe as possible with a storm this strong barreling towards the Carolinas. PDRA DragWars is cancelled and we will not have a reschedule date for this event due to scheduling conflicts and tightness in the schedule the rest of the year. Zero points will be awarded for this event and we will now have two points races left on the schedule - Darlington Dragway's PDRA Fall Nationals on October 2-4th and the 6th Annual PDRA World Finals held at Virginia Motorsports Park on October 17-20th.

As of 12:00pm eastern time on September 3rd, the PDRA Racing and GALOT Motorsports Park officials have determined that we are going to move forward with the PDRA DragWars VI, presented by: Pro Line Racing this weekend in Benson, North Carolina. We have all watched the storm tracks long enough and according to meteorologists across the board, we appear to have a window to make this sixth race on the Road to the Finals happen for our racers and fans.
Due to the scheduled rain and being under a tightened schedule, we will NOT be contesting Bracket Bash at the GALOT event this weekend. This will help with parking and with time schedules across the board in hopes to complete the event.
Everybody stay safe in their travels and we will do our best to accommodate every one to the best of our abilities. The PDRA Racing series is looking forward to another event at GALOT Motorsports Park and we hope to see you all coming out to a great event at a wonderful facility. Stay tuned to the PDRA Racing social media outlets if anything were to change heading into the weekend. Below is a breakdown of the event along with attached daily schedules for Friday and Saturday.

Wednesday, September 4th will begin with parking as always at PDRA events.
Thursday, September 5th appears to be the day where Hurricane Dorian rolls through the Benson area with rain and wind. We will park as many as we can on asphalt during this time and others will stack on asphalt as long as possible. We recommend that you DO NOT put awnings up until the storm passes. Be safe in traveling as you have an extra day of travel to account for the storm.
Friday, September 6th will begin with Testing from 11am to 5:30pm then we will begin with Friday Night Fire capping two Pro qualifying sessions along with one qualifier for Top Dragster and Top Sportsman. Testing will also be reduced $300 for Big Cars and $150 for Jr. Dragsters due to shortened hours.
Saturday, September 7th will begin with Jr. Dragster (Q1), TS/TD (Q2), Jr. Dragster (Q2) and into Pro final qualifier around 12pm noon. Following the final Pro qualifier, we will begin with Sportsman eliminations. PDRA Main Event eliminations will begin at 4pm like originally scheduled with Pros.
