Cannuli's Take The Wild Ride.

Willowbank, Qld/Aus. 13th June 2015. Talk about a wild ride. The Cannuli boys had a Winter Nationals that provided massive highs but ultimately ended in disaster for both John in the Top Alcohol bracket and Paul in the Top Doorslammer bracket.

John was given a championship lifeline when Gary Phillips crashed out of the event on the very first round of qualifying. To become the 2015 Top Alcohol champ Cannuli needed to win his semi-final. Anything less would mean Phillips picked up #17 title. After looking super strong all week, Cannuli struck trouble in the semi when a fuel line split sending his 2015 title aspirations up in smoke.

For Paul a similar story was to unfold. After qualifying strongly in the Top Doorslammer bracket Paul was on his way to the final after Ben Bray cherried his start against Cannuli in semi-final number 1. Unfortunately for Cannuli his car nudged the centre line just before the finish line giving back the win to Bray. Under ANDRA rules 1^st or worst applies. In this case Bray was first to commit an offence when he started too early but ANDRA considers touching or crossing the centreline as a far more serious breach and therefore takes precedence over the red light start.
