Here’s what you need to know about the Miami Dolphins and 2024 NFL draft

25/04/2024

What will the Miami Dolphins do with their first first-round pick in several years?

It is anyone’s guess when the three-day, seven-round NFL draft begins Thursday night at 8 p.m.

The Dolphins enter the 2024 draft with holes to fill on the offensive and defensive lines, and possibly at edge rusher.

But it’s possible the Dolphins don’t address a position of need with their first selection. They are still in the market for a third receiver behind their elite tandem of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle so adding another target for coach Mike McDaniel and quarterback  Tua Tagovailoa’s big-play offense is a possibility.

Either way Miami general manager Chris Grier, who is known to prefer selecting the best player available instead of drafting for a specific need, will be looking for the Dolphins’ first- and second-round picks to be immediate contributors as starters or rotational players.

There’s also a possibility Miami trades down in the first round to acquire more picks since they’ll begin the draft with only six selections overall.
