Defender Oliver Sonne has revealed that he would like to play for Arsenal in the near future.
That 23-year-old is currently plying his trade in Silkeborg IF and the right-back has done quite well for them this season.
The Peru international is capable of operating as a left-back as well as a right-sided winger. His versatility could prove to be an added bonus for any club that manages to sign him.
The defender has three goals and four assists in all competitions and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move this summer. In an interview with Tipsbladet, the 23-year-old defender has indicated that he wants to compete at the highest level and joining a club like Arsenal would be a dream come true.
It is no secret that Arsenal could use a versatile full-back like him but there have not been any concrete links with the London club and a summer move seems highly unlikely. Sonne has also admitted that he would be open to joining a club in the Italian league as well. It will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer.
“I would like to play in the Italian league or at Arsenal. It would be a dream of mine, but I don’t know if it’s possible at the moment. I hope it can become a reality one day,” Sonne said.
The talented young defender is keen on a step up in his career right now. The opportunity to move to Arsenal can be quite attractive for most players. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they have been competing for the league title since last season. The Gunners have done well in the UEFA Champions League as well.
They have a quality squad at their disposal and if they can bring in a couple of intelligent additions during the summer transfer window, there is no reason why they cannot win major trophies next season.
It will be interesting to see if Arsenal decide to bring in defensive reinforcements at the end of the season. Ideally, they should look to invest in a quality wide player and a reliable centre forward first.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori for weeks now.
They have been scouting the 21-year-old defender this season and they will face competition from Italian outfit Juventus. A report from Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t SportWitness) claims that Tottenham and Juventus have already asked for information regarding the player in recent months and it remains to be seen whether they decide to make a move for him in the summer.
Calafiori has a contract with Bologna until 2027 and he is valued at €25 million. Tottenham certainly have the financial muscle to pay the reported asking price and sign the player. It will be interesting to see if Juventus are willing to pay up for the 21-year-old defender as well.
In that case, the final decision could come down to the player. Calafiori is highly rated around Europe and he has the potential to develop into a top-class defender. It will be interesting to see if he is keen on a move to the Premier League at this stage of his career.
The Italian defender might be tempted to continue in his homeland and join a big club like Juventus. Spurs will have to work hard to convince him to join the club.
The North London outfit have done well to improve their defensive unit in recent windows but it seems that they are keen on another central defender this summer. Calafiori could complete their defensive unit for the foreseeable future.

Christian Falk has pointed to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s clear respect for Thomas Tuchel as a key factor for Manchester United’s potential managerial hunt.
It remains to be seen whether current boss Erik ten Hag will maintain his place in the dugout beyond the 2023/24 season.
“Manchester United is still one of the top targets for Thomas Tuchel. He wants to return to the Premier League. He likes how things work there and what it means to be a coach there – it’s very different to how things work in Germany,” the BILD journalist wrote in his exclusive Fact Files column with CaughtOffside.
He made very clear that he’s not open now to talks. He’s in the Champions League with Bayern Munich. They have to wait. No one knows what will happen in the semi-final but before there were no negotiations and United themselves have to make a decision over Ten Hag.
“The new owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has a lot of respect for Thomas Tuchel, and Tuchel is still interested in the United job, so this could be a big topic if Erik ten Hag is sacked and as soon as Bayern Munich’s involvement in the Champions League ends.”
The Red Devils currently find themselves 13 points short of the top four spots.

Given Bayern fans’ petition for the former Dortmund boss to stay put in Munich – not to mention Chelsea supporters’ adoration for their former manager – one might imagine United’s support would be tempted by the prospect.
The 50-year-old can, admittedly, be something of a contentious figure in any club job. From Hans-Joachim Watzke to Uli Hoeneß, there’s no shortage of club bosses with whom Tuchel has spectacularly fallen out.
If can bring some success and pride back to Old Trafford in the immediate short-term future, however, Ratcliffe and Co. may view it as a price worth paying.
Given how much the Munich-based outfit is struggling to find a replacement for the German tactician, there may be little other option but to hand over the reins to the firebrand coach.

After an underwhelming season in 2023/24 it appears that Chelsea are already planning ahead, and they could be about to launch an audacious €55m move for a player that would prefer to play for Barcelona.
Estevao Willian Almeida de Oliveira Goncalves, also known as Messinho, is lighting up the Brazilian league with some great performances for Palmeiras, and they haven’t gone unnoticed in West London.

It’s long been known that the 17-year-old dreams of playing for Barcelona, however, the Catalan giants money troubles make such a move difficult.
There are reasons to believe that another Brazilian to join the ranks at Barca would be of obvious benefit, however, Financial Fair Play rules are so stringent at present, that president, Joan Laporta, couldn’t commit to such a hire in all honesty. At least not at this point in time.
Mundo Deportivo (h/t Fichajes) say that the Blues are keen to take advantage of that situation and have put a concrete offer on the table for the player and his representatives to consider.
It’s an extraordinary amount to investing on a player that has only played 32 games to date, including just five in the Brazilian Serie A, per transfermarkt.
Clearly, Chelsea see something in the player that they can work with, and the potential fee would even dwarf those that Real Madrid paid for Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes.

As we head towards the end of another season, the Player of the Year awards have been decided by the Football Writers’ Association, and Phil Foden has led Man City to another double this year.
The 23-year-old who has scored 16 goals and provided seven assists in 31 games this season per BBC Sport, has beaten off competition from the likes of Declan Rice, Rodri and Cole Palmer.
In the Women’s football category, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw came out on top.
Her 21 goals in 18 games, per BBC Sport, see her way out in front in terms of goalscoring output this season, which was surely one of the drivers to her earning the prestigious award.
