BRISBANE, QLD. (17/05/2018):, Wayne Daley steered the Diamond T Custom Tool Boxes Dodge to the winner’s circle at Sydney Dragway earlier this month claiming maximum points in the process . Now he and his team are looking to repeat  that dominance of the Pro Stock category at the upcoming Gulf Western Oils Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway June 7-10. 

The 2018 season started slowly for Daley, missing the first round due to work commitments, then the second round planned for Melbourne’s Calder Park was cancelled due to track safety concerns. The journey to Adelaide for round three at the Southern Thunder event proved a trying time for the team as they suffered fuel and electrical gremlins all weekend before finishing off by side swiping the safety wall mid track. 

“Going into the Sydney event we weren’t in the Championship hunt, so our thoughts were purely about testing in race conditions,” said Wayne Daley, “but as any racer will tell you, if there’s a chance of turning win lights on all day and taking home a trophy, that’s what you’ll do. We’ve known for a while we have a winning combination, Aaron (Tremayne) from Tremaniac Racing has given us the horsepower, and with his extra guidance at the track we are now getting a good handle on the car set up,” he added.

• Final  6.90 Win over Aaron Tremayne
• All runs being the quickest elapsed time of the session

Looking forward to the season finale at the Winternationals, Daley said “The plan is to continue refining our clutch and chassis set up to apply more of the Tremaniac Power we have under the bonnet, and work towards a fast, but consistent car.  We can’t get on the championship podium this season but it would be nice to consolidate of fourth position with an event win then have a real shot at the 2019 Pro Stock Title.
